Great showing by our swimmers at the Waldo County Invitational this past weekend.

Although it is very early in the season, we set two team relay records at the meet. One in the 11-12 Girls 200 free relay with a time of 1:52.49 for the team of Emily Kennard, Addison Burnham, Anabelle Orth and Suri Ramkissoon. The other was in the 15-18 boys 200 free relay with a time of 1:33.14 by the team of Nathan Berry, Cade "missed my flipturn" Parker, Eli Story and Jake "the beard" Witham. 

We entered two other relays, and although neither produced a relay record, both were led off with individual records in the 50 freestyle. Eli Burnham broke the 8 and under boys record with a 32.63 and Ian Fournier did the same in the 11-12 boys age group with a 25.35. 

Other record breakers included Ian Fournier in the 11-12 100 breast with a 1:14.53 and 100 free with a 58.74 and Cecilia Guadalupi in the 15-18 400 IM 4:43.24 and 500 free 5:16.82. It was rumored that Cecilia may have even smiled after the meet. 

There were many other great swims at this meet, with many best times. Some of the most entertaining and exciting ones were the first meet swimmers getting their first time in an event. 

It was also an opportunity for our swimmers to try out some different events, and even though there were a few dq's (including the nulification by disqualification of a new 25 fly team record) it was a great experience for the 60 plus swimmers who volunteered to attend the meet.
