PenBay meet results
On November 17th we participated in our first Y dual meet of the season. It appears from the results and from on deck observation that all the swimmers made it to the blocks for their events, so excellent work by Coach Victoria and Coach Sara as well as the parents assisting with marshalling.
Our record breaking slowed a bit this week, but we still managed three new team records: Ian Fournier 11-12 200 free 2:09.14 and 50 fly 28.98, and Eli Burnham in the 8 and under 25 fly in 16.35.
Since there aren't as many records to report on, I'll give a report on the top time drops of the meet. Anya Johnderson won this category for the 25 yard distance dropping 8.61 seconds in her 25 free. Sophia Wilcott won for the 50 time drop, and had the biggest time drop of the meet, by dropping 23.2 seconds off of her 50 freestyle. We did not have many negative numbers in the 100 yard events, but Emma McDowell stepped up and dropped 4.37 from her 100 free to win the drop at this distance. For the 200 yard event we'll declare two winners. First, is Brady Gardner who dropped 6.97 seconds in his 200 freestyle (not to mention completed his first legal 100 butterfly). Brady will share the time drop prize with Emily Kennard who dropped 4.95 seconds in her 200 free since Emily swims the event more frequently, and at a very high level, her time drop gets the thumb on the scale for the tie with Brady.
Congratulations to everyone on a job well done...keep coming to practice and working hard.
