MDI Results
January 21st
On January 19th we travelled to MDI for our last Y league dual meet. Our numbers were reduced by sickness, but of the 67 kids who swam there were some great performances. We'll start with the record setters. Eli Burnham completed the 8 and under record board (he has them all!) with a new record in the 25 breast of 19.13. Emily Kennard, who was sick on the way to the meet, decided to swim with the intention of breaking the 11-12 500 free record. She accomplished this with a 5:33.96 effort. Ian Fournier broke the 11-12 boys 50 free record with a 25.02. The final record breaking swim went to Ryan Emerson in the boys 13-14 200 IM with a 2:15.63.Swimmers who made the most out of the opportunity with big time drops included: Isabel and Olivia Atkins, Zac Claude, Emerson Dunbar, Lydia McDowell, Ainslie Milewski, Haley Roman, Evie and Elle Claude, Nate Best, Anna Clausen, Cecilia Guadalupi and Ryan Emerson who broke the 200 IM record by dropping 7 seconds off his 200 IM and followed that up by dropping 2 seconds off his 100 back.
The biggest time dropper was also the leader in new Winter Champs cuts. Suri Ramkissoon made her cut in the 100 IM by dropping 8 seconds, then dropped 3 seconds in the 50 fly to make that cut and completed her day by dropping 9 seconds in the 100 breast to make her third cut of the day. She was joined by Addie Pollis who dropped 3.5 seconds to make her 100 free cut, and Jameson Russell who dropped almost a second to make his 50 free cut.
Other then a bit of snow on the way home and a touch of sickness holding a few kids out of the meet, it was a great way to finish off the dual meet season
