Reminders for state meet!
For this weekend:
1) Bring warm clothing as it's cold in the pool compared to our pool. An extra towel, sweatshirt or jacket are perfect for this.
2) Fuel...snacks and drinks that are easily eaten between events. If you have questions about what this means ask your child. With respect to number 2, I've instructed the kids they are not to leave the team seating area with the exception of using the rest room. We are not going to have kids going into the field house to eat this year as it's made for some really difficult moments the last two years.
3) For all sessions other than than the 13 and up girls we will have a coached practice on Friday. Group D will swim from 3:30 to 4:15. Groups B and C (the groups that normally practice at 5 pm) will swim from 4:15 to 5, and group A (8 and unders) will swim from 5 to 5:30. The Sunday session swimmers are also encouraged to get in the water and do the meet warm up (which will be left on the white board) on Saturday. Our swimmers seem to be a little slower on Mondays, so if possible avoid the day off.
4) For swimmers continuing on to Winter Championships. I will run 2 practices for the first few days. Group D will be in the water from 3:30 to 5, and the younger swimmers from 5 to 6. I will most likely combine and shorten the week of Winter Championships's. Monday is not a day off for these swimmers, so I will expect to see them in the water. In addition, I will need all new qualifiers to come in and fill out the USA registration form on Monday (if this hasn't been done already) as we have a short window to get registered and entered in the meet. Winter Championships Trials entries will be due March 4th.
