Northern York County Dual Meet
We hosted our first YMCA dual meet of the season on Saturday against Northern York County YMCA. For many of our swimmers it was a first time experience, and thanks to a great job by all of our volunteers it went off without a hitch. The deck moms got all the kids marked and helped them find their way to the blocks for the start of their races, the officials ran a great meet, and the timing table and timers did a great job. Thanks to all those involved for making it happen!
We had three new team records set at the meet. The boys 13-14 200 medley relay team of Zac Claude, Noah Katz, Ian Fournier and Jameson Russell broke their week old record with a new time of 1:49.68. Emily Kennard accounted for the other two records breaking records in the 200 free (2:02.78) and 500 free (5:32.46).
We didn't have any new Winter Championship Qualifiers at the meet, but three of our swimmers added additional events. Lilly Choate qualified in the 200 free, Suri Ramkissoon in the 50 back and Zac Claude in the 500 free.
Our time drop honor roll for this meet is massive. I will exclude the new swimmers since this meet constituted their first official times and lump all the 8 and under swimmers together. The 8 and under age group had big time drops, so they all are on the list. As for the others, the big improvements came from Haley Roman, Nora Kalback, Caleb Wilcott, Emma McDowell, Emily Foster, Lydia McDowell, Tyler Foster, Ian Dickson, Ainslie Milewski, Anabelle Orth, Oona Stewart, Rowan Stewart, Georgie McCamish, Nathaniel Bartlett, Aaron Therauilt, Jameson Russell, Gaby Lazure, Abe Bryant and Reika Goonsekere.
We have a lot of kids working hard to improve, and the meet results reflected the efforts they have been making this fall. Great job to all involved!
