    Stingray Updates!

    February 19th

    Hi Stingray Families!

    What a great season this has been! Coaches and swimmers have been working hard and are ready for the YMCA State Meet! Please see the following announcements:

    **National Clinics**

    Join us in supporting the YMCA National Qualifiers as they fundraise for their trip to that meet in April. The clinic will be on Friday from 11:00-12:30 pm this week. The clinic will be focused on starts and turns.

    **Stingray Spirit Night**

    Please join us for a Stingray Spirit Night on Thursday, February 27th at 5:00 pm in the Y gym for pizza, poster making, and fun! We will display the posters at the State Meet. On spirit night all groups will do a short warm up swim. Group D from 3:30 to 4, group C from 4 to 4:25 and Groups A and B from 4:25 to 4:50.

    The wonderful photographer, Jessie Vashon, will be taking our team photo again this year. Please have your swimmer wear their blue Stingray team shirt and black pants for the photo.

    We will be providing pizza, but we would love to complement it with sides and desserts, potluck style. If you would like to contribute, please sign up on the Stingray’s Website under the schedule tab, or email me at [email protected].

    **YMCA State Meet**

    The YMCA State Meet will be held at Colby College from February 28th to March 2nd. As a team we are required to have volunteers for each session. To sign up for a role, please go to the Stingray’s Website, or message Rebecca at [email protected]. This will bring you to the schedule tab (look for the green button that says "Job Signup") and select a role. If you have trouble with the website, reply to me at this email and I can sign you up on a first come basis.

    Practice will continue following the State Meet for any swimmers attending Winter Champs. The season will end as of the State Meet for all other swimmers. There will be no practice on Friday February 28thas the coaches will be with the swimmers at the first session. We will celebrate all Stingrays at our banquet – more information to follow.

    **Winter Champs T-Shirt Design Contest**

    Speaking of Winter Champs… we want to thank all of our gifted swimmers that submitted a t-shirt design. Congratulations to Haven Desrosiers for creating the winning design!! Talented in and out of the pool!
