December Updates
Hi Stingray Families!
Final Home Meet and Aquathon Results
Yesterday we hosted our last home meet of the season. Thank you to all of our volunteers - home meets would not be successful without the help of our parent committee, set-up team, timing board team, timers, officials, concession donations and workers, and clean-up crew. Meet results are posted on Swimtopia here: https://kvystingrays.swimtopia.com/swim_meets
We started the meet with our parent committee sharing the exciting news that the Stingray Aquathon raised nearly $12,000 toward new starting blocks. Twenty-six Stingrays swam over 100,000 yards, with Myles Hunter, Leah Tucker, and Olivia Rivera taking the top three spots for fundraisers.
Twenty-one swimmers raised $250 or more and will be receiving a TYR swim bag this week at practice.
This was also the last home meet for our three seniors - Rowan Stewart, Ian Dickson, and Emma McDowell. Coach Mike spoke of their accomplishments over the years on the Stingrays as they were presented with a team gift and senior banners that will be displayed on deck. Congratulations to these three for their dedication to swimming and their leadership on the team.
December 12 - 14 Arpin Meet
This is a USA meet at Bowdoin College. Please see Coach Mike’s email for meet entries to see which events your swimmers will be competing in.
December Break – Swim Clinics
Our YMCA National Qualifiers will be leading a swim clinic over the December holiday break as they fundraise for their trip to that meet in April. This is a great opportunity for Stingrays to work on technique and learn from these swimmers. We will share more information on the date and time soon!
