Hi Stingray Families,

We would like to acknowledge that this has been a confusing week for many swimmers and their families. As a parent committee, we want to assure you that we continue to support the team. Please reach out to Coach Sara or us if you have any questions regarding practice, meets, or team events.

I want to share with you a few of the exciting upcoming events.

**Stingray Spirit Night & Gear Swap**

Please join us for a Stingray Spirit Night & Gear Swap on Wednesday, February 25th, at 5:30 pm in the Y gym for pizza, poster making, and fun! We will display the posters at the State Meet. On spirit night all groups will do a short practice. Group D from 3:30 – 4:30 pm, Group C from 4:30 – 5:00 pm, and Group B & A from 5 – 5:25 pm.

We will be taking our team photo again this year. Please have your swimmer wear their blue Stingray team shirt and black pants for the photo.

We will be providing pizza, but we would love to complement it with sides and desserts, potluck style. If you would like to contribute, please sign up on the Stingray’s Website under the schedule tab, or email me at [email protected].

We will combine this fun night with a gear swap! Bring gently used gear that you can share… and take gear that you can use! Please feel free to drop off gear during practice times to Coach Sara or me, so we can begin to organize items.

**YMCA State Meet**

The YMCA State Meet will be held at Colby College from February 27^th to March 1st. As a team, we are required to have volunteers for each session. Rebecca Lazure will send an email when the team is assigned roles, so you can sign up.

Practice will continue following the State Meet for any swimmers attending Winter Champs. The season will end at the State Meet for all other swimmers. There will be no practice on Friday, February 27^th, as the coaches will be with the swimmers at the first session.

We will share more information on the timing of sessions once we receive it.

**MESI Winter Champs**

MESI Winter Champs Meet will be held at Bowdoin College from March 12 to 15th. This is a USA swim meet. Stay tuned for more details!

**T-Shirt Design Contest**

We will again have a Winter Champs T-Shirt Design Contest this year. The KVY Stingray USA swimmers will participate in the MESI Winter Champs meet in March, and every Stingray attendee will receive a Winter Champs t-shirt featuring a design that could be yours! Check out the attached flyer for more details.
