Hope you enjoyed the sunshine today!

Sending a brief note to let you know about some updates and some improvements the KVY is making in the pool area.

-In addition to in-house, daily (3X) water testing, the Greater Augusta Utility District just gave our pool water a clean bill of health and verified the accuracy of our testing.

-Per the regular maintenance plan, the sand in the pool filtration system is scheduled to be replaced. No interruptions in the pool schedule are anticipated during this process.

-In addition to replacing a humidity sensor that failed recently, our HVAC contractor has completed a thorough review of our system, over and above the ongoing preventive maintenance contract. With the recent adjustments, the system is functioning as designed. 

In an attempt to prevent organic matter from entering the pool, the following steps are being taken:

-ALL swimmers are being asked to abide by the longstanding (often ignored), state-mandated “Shower-first” policy. There will be more permanent signage soon and coaches, guards, group leaders, etc. will be encouraged to enforce this policy with all swimmers. Please be kind to the messenger(s) J

-Urine in the pool, in addition to being less than appealing (a euphemism to be sure!), creates all kinds of havoc in the pool and in the surrounding air. As above, there will be more permanent signage soon and coaches, guards, group leaders, etc. will be encouraged to discuss the: “We don’t swim in your toilet, so PLEASE don’t pee in our pool” policy with all swimmers.

-Finally, mats will be placed at the front entrance to the pool. Please wipe your feet before entering the pool area, and please, non-swimmers, limit your “travels” to and from the bleachers. You are welcome to leave your street shoes/boots in the hall and bring additional footwear for use on the pool deck. Again, signage is planned and we trust you will help us keep our pool in good working order.
