Greetings Parents and Swimmers,

We are planning on conducting a practice meet on Friday November 4th from 3:30 until we conclude (likely at 6:30).  I will try to keep the kids entered in events that will have them swimming at their normal group times (for example if your child swims at 5, then their events will likely be scheduled between 5 and 6).  They are a few exceptions, which will be for some of the new 13 and older swimmers who I may put in the 100 yard events which will run during the 3:30 to 5:00 practice spot.  The other exception will be for the 8 and under swimmers, who will swim together (because they do 25 yard races) during the 5:45 to 6:30 time slot.

To make the process easier this year I have prepared a line up in advance, so similar to a swim meet, the kids will know their events in advance of the meet.  We will also be able to pre-seed the sessions so the kids will know event #, lane and heat in advance of their race.  This will enable us to have the meet marshals gather the kids up in advance of the event and get them to the blocks. The meet line up will be posted in the pool the Monday before the meet so everyone can get a look at what they will be swimming.

We will also need to gather up parents to man the various meet stations (officials, timers, scorers table, meet marshals etc).  Don't worry if you have work conflicts, as I'll make sure we have extra coaches around to fill in any roles where we are understaffed.  If, however, you can work the meet, the help will be greatly appreciated.
